Plustek announces the OpticFilm 7400, designed to take 35mm film and slides and convert them (at up to 7200 dpi) into high-quality digital images. The new scanner uses LED illumination, which is thirty percent more efficient than traditional illumination systems. Sony has developed a new 1/2.3 size CCD image sensor (diagonal 7.763 mm) for consumer digital still cameras that offers a 14.2 M effective pixel resolution. Voigtländer introduces the latest member in their Classic lens collection, the APO-Lanthar 90 mm / F3.5 SL II lens, in Europe.
